Hey, there!

I’m Amanda, a UX designer and researcher with a passion for connecting people through digital experiences.

My journey began in Landscape Architecture, where I developed a foundational understanding of design that I apply to each project I approach. With a Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction and 2+ years of hands-on research experience, I bring a holistic perspective to every endeavor I embark on.

With over 8 years of design experience across different fields, I'm always excited for the next opportunity that comes my way!

MY DESIGN PROCESS

PLAN

Each project requires its own unique solution. Before beginning, I like to map out an approach and prioritize the most important focus areas.

LEARN

Having a grasp on existing research in the problem space and competitors' solutions helps form a foundation for the next phase: ideation.

IDEATE

Next, I ideate within determined focus areas. I generally start with a big white board and move to sketch paper and my computer, as needed.

TEST

Refining and testing ideas with other people helps guide additional ideation. Making sure ideas work before refining them is a huge time (and sanity) saver.

OTHER PROJECTS

What else am I doing? I design and produce Is This News?, a monthly newsletter created to foster discussion and encourage creativity amongst my friends and family. The newsletter boasts think pieces on current events, updates on ongoing art projects, and media recommendations for and from the community.
